GLASSCOCK COUNTY -- A major road in Glasscock County has been re-opened, after it was closed Wednesday afternoon because of a grass fire.

TX 137 is now open between F.M. 307 and TX 158. TXDOT had closed the road because of the fire early Wednesday afternoon.

The fire burned about 10 acres in the area. It broke out about 3 mile northwest of the TX158-TX137 intersection. No structures were threatened, but some livestock were in danger. Fire crews were able to move those livestock out of harm's way.

The Texas Forest Service sent an air attack, bulldozers and engines to help fight the fire. As of late afternoon, the fire was 80 percent contained.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
