MIDLAND -- A house was badly damaged by a structure fire Wednesday in Midland.

Eight Midland Fire units were called out to a house in the 3900 block of Anetta around 12:30 PM Wednesday. Crews were able to control the fire, but the home was pretty much destroyed by the flames.

The homeowners believe the blaze started in the neighbors' back yard. Those homeowners say it isn't the first time a fire has sparked in the area.

"This happened three times, and I told the policeman it's too dirty in there," one homeowner told Big 2. "It's a lot of junk. Well, of course, it starts again."

"It's these neighbors," added another neighbor. "They have a bunch of weeds in the back."

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation. Luckily, The Red Cross says no one was living in the house at the time of the fire.
