ODESSA -- Statistics show that 4 out of 5 child car seats are used incorrectly.

To stop this trend, Medical Center Hospital, Freedom Buick and Duke Energy teamed up to host a child seat safety check Tuesday. The check ran from 11 AM to 6 PM Tuesday at Freedom Buick on 42nd Street in Odessa.

Parents who brought their kids with them could learn how to secure the child in the seat properly.

If you missed the safety check, don't worry. There will be other checks scheduled throughout the year.
