Prosecuting Those Who Cause Wildfires

The recent wildfires did not start by themselves. Many are traced to human actions.

As we told you earlier this week, fire officials believe the large Midland County fire was sparked by a tossed cigarette.

So what can be done to find those who start the fires? Should those people be held liable for all of the damage? And do residents need to be more proactive in monitoring other people's irresponsible actions?

Jackie Smith set out to answer those questions.
