PECOS COUNTY --  Crews continue to battle a wildfire complex in Pecos County.

The Texas Forest Service tells Big 2 that the Cannon Fire Complex has now burned 41,521 acres. As for the major fires in the complex, the Cannon Fire itself is has burned 9,248 acres, and it's 40 percent contained. The D.R.H. fire nearby has burned 26,273 acres, but it's 50 percent contained. The Smokey Mountain fire has torched 6,000 more acres. That blaze is only 20 percent contained.

Those fires broke out after lightning hit the area Sunday, and fierce winds helped them spread Thursday. Crews have saved 2 homes and 6 structures in the area so far.
