ANDREWS COUNTY -- A large wildfire near Andrews is now mostly contained.

The Texas Forest Service says that the Frying Pan Ranch fire is now 80 percent contained. That fire has now burned close to 81,000 acres.

The blaze broke out Thursday near Eunice, NM. Strong winds quickly pushed it across the county. At one point on Thursday, the fire was about 12 miles from Andrews, but shifting winds pushed it away from the city.
