MIDLAND -- Crews battled a brush fire northwest of Midland Monday.

This blaze broke out off County Road 60 near Avalon around 3:30 PM Monday. The blaze burned 10 acres near the M.I.S.D. bus barn, before seven fire units from Midland and Northeast Midland County were able to contain it.

No structures were burned and no one was hurt. County Road 60 was closed for about an hour as crews were fighting the flames, but the road is now open.
