Project Rescue Me

No one ever wants to think about their loved one getting lost or being injured when they're not around, but it's a reality that can happen and you could be better prepared.

That's why Midland Memorial Hospital started Project Rescue Me. It's an ID tag program that allows your loved one to be easily identified by medical professionals and law enforcement if they were to get lost or end up in the emergency room. Here's how it works:

You provide the hospital with important information such as name, age, next of kin and any significant medical issues. You will then be issued a metal ID, like a dog tag, that can be placed around the neck or tied to shoelaces.

The tag will have an ID number and a 1-800 number etched into it.  That number can be called from anywhere in the world and the nurse who answers the phone can access the person's information based on their ID number. Your personal information is protected and mechanisms are in place to prevent the release of information to anyone outside of identifiable hospitals or law enforcement agencies.

This service is completely free to the public and it also works well for children, elderly, cyclists and joggers. For more information on how to get a tag for your child or loved one, call 432 68-NURSE.
