The University of Texas of the Permian Basin’s Music Program is proud to announce a “first” for the Permian Basin--a performance by internationally-acclaimed Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán!
This is also the first
fundraiser of this magnitude for the University’s Music Program, and key
sponsors include West Texas Ford Dealers, Rosa’s Café and Tortilla Factory,
Odessa Council for the Arts and Humanities, and Standard Sales.
Mariachi Vargas, which has been in existence for 113 years, has set the standard for the mariachi genre, and is known as “el mejor mariachi del mundo” (the greatest mariachi in the world). The concert will be Friday, May 20, at 8 p.m. in the Ector County Coliseum
Mariachi Armonia, founded by Jerimie Hernandez will be one of the opening acts.
Tickets may be purchased at Endless Horizons in Odessa or at Super Mercado in Midland. Tickets are also available online or can be ordered by phone at 1-800-462-7979 ($4 fee per order).
Ticket prices range from $27.50 to $82.50.
