breaking news
West winds taking over again today will keep all the storms well east of the Permian Basin. Today will be very similar to Tuesday with temps topping out near 93 under sunny skies. Red Flag Warning issued again today from the National Weather Service so be careful this afternoon with any open flames, obey the burn bans! Tomorrow the west winds will continue to gust into the 30 mph range but a few more clouds will fill our skies later in the day, temps will still hit 90 though. A cold front approaching from the Pacific bring our next best chance for rain. This will be late Thursday night and early Friday morning with the best chance for rain being only in the eastern Permian Basin and Trans Pecos areas. Dry weather will quickly fill back into the basin so do not expect a wash-out Friday, skies will actually become sunny by noon Friday as temps top out in the upper 80's. By Saturday, the 90's return with much less wind!
