OPD and ECSO to Honor Fallen Officers

ODESSA -- The week of May 15-21, 2011, has been designated National Police Memorial Week. This week is set aside to honor and remember law enforcement officers who have made the supreme sacrifice.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2011, members of the Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies will hold a memorial service to honor fellow officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The service begins at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Chapel Room, 6801 E. Business 20, Odessa, Texas.
Local officers who have given their lives will also be remembered during the memorial. These services will honor the seven local law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty: Sheriff Deputy Thad West, Corporal Gordon "G.T." Toal, Officer Scott Stanton Smith, Corporal Arlie "Lee" Jones, Corporal John Scott Gardner, Corporal Abel Marquez and Lubbock Officer Rodney Kendricks.
