West, Warm & Dry winds dominating today again before a Pacific Cold Front sweeps through the Permian Basin. Red flag warnings still in effect and will last through today so obey burn bans and be careful with open flames, winds will be gusting near 35 mph! The winds relax after sunset this evening allowing a rush of gulf moisture back into the Basin. This will help spark some storms as the cold front sweeps through. After midnight tonight a few storms will likely pop up in the Eastern Permian Basin and Lower Trans-Pecos. Some of these storms could be strong with small hail and gusty winds along with brief heavy rain. The storms will push east leaving dry weather behind most of your Friday as the cold front continues eastward throughout the morning. By noon, expect more sunshine and breezy west winds warming us to the upper 80's. Armed Forces Day is Saturday and 90's will return to the Basin, upper 90's make an appearance early next week.
