Despite the long awaited storms this morning, the drought is far from over! Midland International Airport only received .05" with much more rain east of the airport. Eastern Midland has about an half of an inch in the bucket just from this line of storms. The drought is still dominating the forecast though, west wind return today as we dry out, Red Flag Warnings in effect. Temps won't be quite as hot as Thursday's highs, expect upper 80's this afternoon. Tomorrow the 90's return with even more sunshine, 92 Saturday and 96 degrees Sunday. Late Sunday night another round of storms is possible, very similar to last night's storms with damaging winds, hail and heavy rain. The heat sticks around into early next week, with upper 90's till the middle of next week.
