We had 50 mph wind gusts Tuesday that spread wildfires quickly across the Permian Basin, luckily those gusts will not be here today! Through mid-afternoon, winds will pick up a bit but the highest gusts will max out closer to 30 mph today, main thing is to still me careful and obey all burn bans. Temps will be hot again with highs in the middle 90's, a degrees or so cooler tomorrow but then the extreme heat blasts into the Basin Friday. Look for near record level temps Friday & Saturday as highs reach near 105 degrees both days! Sunday will bring a return to theupper 90's but the winds will also return. Gusts Sunday could reach the 40 mph range again, be careful on your extended holiday weekend!
