The heat wave comes just in time for your holiday weekend! Expect sunny skies, breezy west winds and record level heat today and Saturday. The previous record for May 27th is 102 degrees, 104 is my forecast today. Tomorrow temps will be even hotter, 106 likely across the Permian Basin Saturday before the heat wave relaxes. Sunday temps will only warm to 99, yes only 99 which is still hot but more importantly the wind will return Sunday. Gusts likely will be closer to 40 mph Sunday setting up a strong dryline which could spark isolated storms late Sunday. Most importantly is going to be the wind and high fire danger this weekend with everyone traveling and grilling. Be careful and obey the burn bans!
