This weekend's broken high temp records leave us hoping for a cool down, hopefully in the form of rain. Well it'll be hot again today but not nearly as hot as temps top out near 95 with storms possible this afternoon. A strong Southeast wind gusting to 30 mph will set up a dryline across West Texas. West of the dryline, our northwest counties, are under a red flag warning with humidity less than 15%. East of the dryline, our southeast counties, will have a potential for isolated t-storms. Some of the storms could be severe with large hail and gusty winds so be sure to keep your eyes on the skies this afternoon during any Memorial Day Celebrations. Big 2 will keep you up to date on the storms on KMID, Facebook and Twitter!
Overnight a cold front will sweep into the Permian Basin keeping the chances for rain lasting through the overnight hours. Tuesday the whole system will push north as a warm front conituing or rain chances into the afternoon. Don't expect a wash out or that everyone will get rain but storms will be a little more scattered Tuesday before clearing out. Wednesday the sun shines bright and warms us back to the middle 90's till the weekend. It'll be windy all week so be sure to obey the burn bans!
