As the dryline stays west of the Permian Basin and closer to El Paso, the storm chances will also stay west. Last night's storms filled out skies with clouds all morning but as the morning rolls on, expect much more sunshine! Temps will also warm quickly, middle 80's by noon, middle 90's to near 96 for highs. This afternoon storms will likely pop out near El Paso and closer to sunset some will wander eastward into our western counties. Expect frequent lightning and brief heavy downpours but as night's cooler temps filter in, the storms will dwindle to just clouds again by sunrise. Expect this weather pattern to continue again Friday with sunny skies and middle 90's for highs followed by rain in the mountains. Saturday the clouds will linger a bit longer as a cold front approaches from the west. This will miss us to the north this weekend so expect 90's to stay in the forecast all weekend! Use your sunscreen and drink plenty of water to keep cool, the sunshine will be bright and hot for the next several days.
