breaking news
We started our next run of triple digit heat yesterday with 100 degrees, today; Even hotter! Sunny skies will cook the Permian Basin this afternoon with temps topping out at 106 with little to no wind. Tonight the wind picks up a bit bring some relief with gusts to 30 mph. Because of the wind though, temps will struggle to cool much at all as we stay in the middle to upper 70's by sunrise Saturday. Highs Saturday will be near 107 with a breezy south wind sticking around and 104 Sunday.Early next week the triple digits will relax a bit, still touching the lower-100's but by the middle of next week 90's will return to the forecast. Our next best chance for rain hold off until the end of next week. A tropical system will develop potentially bringing a steady rain to the Basin. With tropical storms, model vary largely with the storm track so don't cancel next weekend's plans yet! More details next week...
