Friday AM Weather 7-1-11

Yesterday's 98 degree high wrapped up June and pushed the average temp for the month to 88 degrees. This is the highest average temp of any month ever at the Midland Int'l Airport! 21 days in June were over 100 degrees with 14 of those days being one after the next. July is here now though and are we looking to continue this sultry weather pattern? Not likely! July is actuall ystarting out much more enjoyable with middle 90's today through the extended holiday weekend. By the middle of next week triple digit heat will return but nothing like mid-June's 110 degree heat. July also creates warmer oceanic waters which wil spark more hurricanes in the Atlantic, potentially giving us the long awaited rain we long for. Nothing as of now looks promising but as these next couple months roll on, keep you eye on the tropics. Check back here periodically for updates . . .
