As Friday's daytime heating continues to strengthen Tropical Storm Don more of the Texas Gulf Coast is preparing for impact.

Maximum sustained winds Friday morning were at 50 mph with gusts to 65 with stronger winds in the forecast.

Despite the warm gulf water, high pressure aloft and dry air moving above Don will slow his growth so it is highly unlikely Don will strengthen to hurricane criteria which is 74 mph sustained winds.

Despite the Don's hype, keep your weekend plans scheduled but the potential for rain continues until Sunday afternoon.
