MIDLAND - Keep Midland Beautiful is hosting a tire recycling event on Saturday.

The non-profit wants Midland residents to "spare a spare," instead of illegally dumping tires on the side of the road or in a ditch.

The tire recycling event will be Saturday, August 6th from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Midland College Chap Center.

Only personal vehicle tires will be accept. No commercial tires. No rims accepted. And there will be a 12 tire limit per vehicle.

For every tire collected, an equal amount of clean tire mulch will return to the community to be used at the playground of Fannin Elementary.
