FORT STOCKTON -- Fort Stockton Police have charged a man with homicide -- after he confessed the crime to them on Wednesday.

Police say Dustin Allen Horton admitted to them that he had killed a "John Doe."

After the confession, police searched Horton's apartment -- and found enough evidence to continue investigating. Then, police went to the Fort Stockton landfill, and found more evidence. That's when the charge was filed.

The identity of the victim is still not being released at this time..

Horton is being held on $500,000 bond in the Pecos County Jail.
