I asked viewers and facebook friends to describe this heat in four words or less, check out some of the suggestions on our facebook page! As high pressure stays in control, my forecast has been forced to remain the same. Makes my job easy but my thesaurus is wearing thin! Sunny skies, light winds and afternoon high near 101-103 expected today through the weekend as mornings only cool to the middle 70's are helping us break yearly heat records. Today will be our 45th day in the 100s for 2011, the previous record is 52 days back in 1964. Any rain somewhat close to us will be an isolated chance this weekend in the mountains but not likely. Keep staying cool, drinking water and taking it easy outdoors as this relentless heat cooks the Permian Basin.
