FORT STOCKTON -- Fort Stockton Police are running some tests as they continue investigating a murder.

On Wednesday, Dustin Allen Horton admitted to police that he had killed someone. Police say that the confession convinced them to search Horton's apartment, where they found enough evidence to continue their investigation.

A later search of the Fort Stockton landfill led police to charge Horton with homicide.

Horton is being held in the Pecos County Jail on $500,000 bond.

At this time, the identity of the victim is not being released.
