MONAHANS -- The City of Monahans is one step closer to getting new apartments.
The city needs more housing since an oil boom has sent hundreds of workers to the area. Many of those workers have no place to live, and there are no nearby towns to accommodate them..
The city recently signed an agreement with a company to do a feasibility study on new complexes. Mayor David Cutbirth also tells Big 2 that the city is looking at ways to provide incentives to builders. The city council will discuss incentives in September.
