The Andrews County Commissioners Court approved an interlocal agreement Monday that would allow them to split the payment on the new route with the city of Andrews. If the Andrews City Council approves the agreement, the two groups could bid out the project to a contractor.
The proposed agreement could cut down the time it would take to build the new route. That route was originally supposed to take 3 to 5 years to build, but now, it could open within 2 years.
The Andrews City Council will discuss the agreement in their meeting at 7 PM Thursday.
