STANTON -- The wife of a Martin County murder suspect has been arrested.

Rosalina Garcia -- the wife of murder suspect Jose Americo Garcia, 30 -- was arrested by Texas Rangers in Lamesa Thursday, after she returned from Mexico. The circumstances behind Garcia's arrest confirms what authorities believed all along: Jose Garcia is, in fact, in Mexico.

Rosalina Garcia, 30, was transferred to Stanton after her arrest. She was charged with hindering apprehension of a fugitive. She's since been transported to Big Spring -- where there is a a separate female inmate facility.

The Martin County District Attorney's office is currently doing paperwork that will transfer jurisdiction to the U.S. Marshal's office -- who deal with apprehension of fugitives who have fled to foreign countries.  The U.S. Marshal's office will then work with Mexican authorities to try and apprehend Jose Garcia.

The couple's children were with Rosalina Garcia at the time of her arrest. Those children are currently staying with family members.
