MIDLAND -- Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a man in front of a mother and her baby.

The shooting happened around 6PM Sunday, at 911 North Weatherford Street in Midland.

Police say when they arrived to the home, they found Jeremy Johnson, 28, lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.

Johnson was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital, but he did not survive.

Sharon Winters, an acquaintance of Johnson's, was at the home with her baby when the shooting happened. She recounts the ordeal --

"I saw that gun and I didn't know who it was pointing at, it was pointing at this man though. But, I was so scared, I didn't want my baby to be hurt, all I care about is my baby. But I felt bad for that man though," Winters explained.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Hospital personnel told us, they were on lock-down Sunday evening and were watching the entrances and exits closely because of the shooting.

Police have not released any description of the shooter yet. They're only saying the investigation is on-going.
