High pressure will stay in control today and a majority of your Wednesday keeping temps closer to 90 for highs. Late Wednesday a cold front ill start its surge across the Permian Basin bringing clouds and a chance for storms. Most of the Basin will stay dry for the remainder of Summer (Thursday is the last day of summer) despite the cold front. The areas that do get rain will most likely not enjoy this week's rain compared to last week's rain. These storms could be strong to possibly even severe with gusty winds, large hail and very frequent lightning while lacking the heavy rainfall we need. Friday marks the beginning of Fall and also starts a gradual warming trend through the weekend. Look for 90's again in the Basin before the end of the weekend.
