MIDLAND COUNTY -- A high speed chase forced Department of Public Safety troopers to race down Interstate 20 Thursday evening.

Authorities a man stole a white pick-up truck in Ector County around 8:30 PM Thursday and took off.

Ector County Sheriff's deputies gave chase west of Odessa, and the truck went charging down the interstate toward Midland.

The chase made it all the way to the F.M. 1788 exit. At that point, the driver spun around and took off towards North County Road 1290 and Business 20.

The man eventually ditched the truck. D.P.S. troopers then caught him on foot in an R.V. park a short time later and arrested him.

The man's name has not been released.
