Stop Post Offices From Closing

Post offices are closing nation-wide, but a group of Senators trying to stop more from shutting down.
It's estimated the postal service will lose $8 billion by the end of the year. Mail volume has dropped twenty percent in just four years. As more and more people turn to electronic communication, the postal service forced to raise the price of stamps and close stores.
But, some Senators want to reduce the number of days the post office is open, instead of closing stores down.
The bipartisan group sent forward a bill, that would return a $7 billion overpayment to the federal retirement system. Then, that money could be used to pay off debt and buy out thousands of postal workers.
