Two Bodies Identified East Of Lovington

LOVINGTON, NM -- Authorities in southeastern New Mexico are investigating two bodies found in Lea County Thursday.

    A rancher found the bodies on his property along U.S. 82, about 4 miles northeast of Lovington.

    Lea County Sheriff's deputies were called out to the scene around 1 PM Thursday. They found the bodies of Francis McCain and Leon Sanchez there. Both McCain, 43, and Sanchez, 48, are from Lovington.

    Investigators are collecting evidence at the scene and trying to figure out how McCain and Sangez died.

    No charges have been filed at this time.
