A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine says more than 48 million Americans over age 12--that's 1 in 5 people-- have trouble hearing in one or both ears.
And the way we listen to music is partly to blame. Researchers say headphones, or earbuds, along with aging and genetics... are contributing to hearing loss for Americans.
Experts say to preserve your hearing, start by turning the volume down and choose headphones over earbuds.
And possibly most important if someone can hear your music through the headphones, it's probably too loud!
