The Giving Spirit of Two Businessmen Fed 2000 People in Wisconsin

The city of Racine Wisconsin has the highest unemployment rate in the state, and the efforts of two men aren't going unnoticed.

Those without jobs and some without homes in Racine, are getting their lives back on track the old fashioned way --putting one foot in front of the other.

Everyday Racine County Workforce Development Center and its next door neighbor HALO, or Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization help those who have fallen on unfortunate times get their lives back on track.

Racine claims the highest unemployment rate in Wisconsin at over 13 percent. But this Thanksgiving Dan Johnson and Ray Stibeck are serving up some hope in hearty fashion.

The pair call it Dan and Ray Rendering Thanks Day. Its the second year the men have served the meal, and this year they are hoping to feed more than 2,000 people.

But they aren't stopping there. In addition to feeding the community, Dan and Ray are going to house the community. They are working on a new project that will soon be a transitional home for three families from HALO.

Dan and Ray have put most of their own money into this home and all in the name of helping people start over.
