MIDLAND -- Commissioners are making progress on the Midland County Library expansion project.

Big 2 recently reported that Midland County bought the Alldredge and Sons building off of Loop 250 -- so that they could build a library annex and community center there.

Now, Midland County Commissioners have 60 days to choose an architect for the new project.

Commissioners say the project could be finished by next summer.

Even with the accelerated timeline, county officials expect an extensive search -- as they look for the architect with the best reputation.

The expansion project also includes renovations to the library's downtown location.
