Michael David Manning was arrested around 1 PM Thursday. Manning, 42, is charged with evading in a motor vehicle.
Ector County Sheriff's deputies tried to pull over Manning's Nissan Sentra for a traffic stop near 42nd and Buckskin around 12:30 PM Thursday. But instead of pulling over, Manning reportedly hit the gas pedal and sped off.
Deputies chased Manning at speeds up to 115 miles an hour, and Department of Public Safety troopers joined the chase.
Eventually, Manning swerved around spikes D.P.S had set up in the road at TX 302 and F.M. 1936 in West Odessa. At that point, the Sentra hit a drain pipe -- ripping off the vehicles tires.
The Sentra crashed into a front yard in the 11400 block of Rolling Hills, and Manning was arrested on the scene.
Ector County Sheriff's deputies say Manning was taken to Medical Center Hospital for observation Thursday afternoon. He'll be booked into the Ector County Detention Center when he's cleared.
