Updated: December 13, 2011
EDINBURG -- Two students in South Texas are recovering this morning...after being shot outside their school.

It happened in Edinburg, about 3 hours south of Corpus Christi, near the Mexican border.

The boys were apparently outside, trying out for the basketball team when the shots were fired.

Police say one person is in custody.

They think the shots came from hunters near the school. Counselors will be on hand for students on Tuesday.

There will also be extra security guards on site.
