MIDLAND -- Weight watchers helping people stay on track with their diet this holiday season with some helpful renovations.
Out with Resolutions, In with Renovations:
Each
year, millions of people make a New Year's resolution to lose weight.
And many often find that they've given up before winter's end. This
year, instead of resolving
to lose weight, Weight Watchers would like to teach your viewers how to
renovate their current habits in order to reach their weight loss
goals.
Focus on foods with fuel:
Your
body works harder to process protein and fiber than they do with fat
and carbs. Plus, protein and fiber help you feel full - and therefore
more satisfied.
Add a first course to your meal:
A
salad with low-fat dressing or a broth-based soup will not only add
volume to your meal but also fill you up so you can stay true to your
portion sizes.
Forget Exercising:
The
word "exercise" can be a daunting word for some. Instead, set a weekly
goal of increased activity. It may be a spinning class for some; but
for others, it can
start with simply pacing while you're on the phone; or tensing and
releasing your abs at stoplights. The goal is to build muscle mass
because it increases metabolism - helping you burn more calories.
In addition to these and other tips, we'd also like to share with your viewers how to renovate a classic comfort food: Macaroni and Cheese! This lighter
version is packed with fiber-filled ingredients, giving you the sense of indulgence without the sense of guilt.
