ANDREWS COUNTY -- A second fatal accident on an Andrews County highway in a 24 hour span claimed a man's life Thursday night.

The crash happened about 5 miles south of Andrews on U.S. 385 around 8:30 PM Thursday.

Department of Public Safety troopers say Tyrone Reed was driving a 2006 Chevy Tahoe was traveling south when he overcorrected while going into a turn.

The Tahoe took a side skid, crashing into the median and rolling twice. Slick roadways could have caused the vehicle to roll.

Jorge Lavario, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lavario was a passenger in the Tahoe, and troopers say he wasn't wearing his seat belt.

Reed, 41, was rushed to Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries.

Passenger Marcel King, 44, was also in stable condition with minor injuries at Permian Medical Center in Andrews, at last check.

    The crash is under investigation.

The crash happened about 5 miles north of a fatal wrong-way collision, which happened around 3 AM Thursday.
