WACO -- Investigators are trying to determine what caused a private plane crash that killed five people, apparently a family.

Bad weather may have played a role in the crash. The plane went down last night near Waco, Texas. Authorities say two men, a woman, a 13-year old girl and a two-year old boy died in the crash.

Four were from the Atlanta area and the pilot was from Texas. Authorities say they all had the same last name. The Piper Saratoga took off from Tara Airport south of Atlanta yesterday afternoon.

The plane landed in Jackson, Mississippi to take on supplies and was headed for Waco when it hit bad weather.

The pilot radioed the tower shortly before the plane crashed last night. It went down in a rural area about an hour's flying time from Waco.
