MIDLAND -- The Tall City's fire chief is now heading up a statewide organization.

The Texas Fire Chief's Association has named Midland Fire Chief Robert Isbell as its new president.

Isbell has been the leader of the tall city's fire department since December 2010, but he's been involved with the Texas Fire Chief's Association for much longer. He's served three terms as vice president since 2009 -- when he was the Euless Fire Chief.

Isbell will serve as president of the association for two years. During that time, he'll oversee statewide firefighter regulations and the association's premier leadership training.
