BEAUFORT, SC -- Former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich gladly accepts the endorsement of former Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Perry formally suspended his struggling presidential campaign ahead of Saturday's presidential primary in South Carolina.
Gingrich has been steadily gaining on front runner Mitt Romney in Palmetto State polls.
Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, won an impressive victory in the New Hampshire primary on January 10th.
