PRESIDIO COUNTY -- A United States Air Force surveillance blimp crashes in West Texas.

The incident happened on Tuesday, between Marfa and Valentine.

High winds reportedly brought down the 210' x  70' foot radar balloon, which is connected to a tether.

No one was hurt in the incident. The crash caused more than $2 million in damage.

The unmanned blimp has been floating about 12,000 feet above the ground for more than 15 years.

The blimp monitored low-flying aircraft in the border region for illegal activities -- including drug smuggling.
