"The creative process starts when the person gets here and maybe gives me a hint at what their personality is like," says Aubrey. "I listen to what they want and I try and just emulate their vision on paper and then transfer that onto their body."
The Trufants not only share a business -- together they started the West Texas Tattoo Convention -- which brings renowned Tattoo artists from all over the world to San Angelo.
"We decided we wanted to do it to help educate San Angelo and West Texas because there wasn't a whole lot of great tattooing going on for many years in the area," said Alex. "We've traveled the country-- I've traveled the world and i wanna bring some of that better tattooing and educate West Texas about what good tattooing looks like."
50 artists will be in town showing their work -- and tattooing clients. One of the top artists in the country will even make an appearance this weekend.
"The one that everyone might know right now is Oliver Peck -- he's from the TV show Inkmasters. He is the main judge on the show. He'll be here tomorrow."
Being in charge of a large convention and sharing a career with a sibling might not always be the easiest -- but the Trufant brothers both agree on their favorite part of the job --
"Working with Alex. Everyday."
"It's brotherly love. We fight we make up real quick. I would rather work with nobody else in the world than my brother. "
