East Texas Farmer Opposes Keystone Pipeline

LAMAR COUNTY -- Lamar County landowner Julia Crawford is standing her ground in an effort to stop the Keystone XL pipeline from running across her farm.
Crawford could find out today whether a Texas court will extend a temporary restraining order to stop TransCanada from building the line in the future.
The company says it legally condemned the property under Texas eminent domain law last October.
Part of the proposed line crosses a hay meadow on Crawford's farm, along the banks of the Red River on the Texas-Oklahoma border.
She's worried about potential pollution to a creek used to irrigate crops of soybeans, corn and wheat.
