BP "Deepwater Horizon" Trial Delayed

By: Big 2 News Staff
Updated: February 27, 2012
The legal battle over the worst oil spill in U.S. history has been delayed.

A civil trial stemming from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster was scheduled to begin in Louisiana Monday morning.

But we've learned, it's been pushed back by a week, until March 5th.

BP, one of the defendants, says the delay will give them more time to continue settlement talks.

The plaintiffs include fishermen, hotel owners and Gulf Coast residents.
