Children in the U.S. are getting about 16-percent of their daily calories from sugar.

That's according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The report shows 66-percent of that sugar is eaten inside the home.

Boys appear to be taking in more sugar than girls, at an average of 362 calories worth of sugar a day, compared to 282 calories for the average girl.

The report looked at sugar consumption among children ages two to about 19 years old.
