Monahans Building New Homes, RV Park

By: Karl Rundgren
Updated: March 2, 2012
MONAHANS -- The housing boom continues in Monahans.

Monahans Mayor David Cutbirth tells Big 2 that ten new homes are already being built in the Ward County seat.

Two of the new homes have already sold, and more homes are planned after the homes are completed.

Monahans is also adding a new R.V. park to handle the surge of trailers that have come to the area.

The oil boom has brought several workers to Ward County, but there aren't enough facilities to house all the new workers.

Monahans city leaders have tried to get builders to add a new apartment complex in the city -- but most builders are worried that the city is too small for apartments.
