Obama on Energy - Some Buy It, Some Don't

Midland - President Obama spoke about his all-of-the-above energy strategy this week in Maljamar, NM, which he says will reduce our nation's dependency on foreign oil. While some people who heard his speech agree, one local oilman does not.
The President opened the speech by saying, "I'm here to talk about what we're calling an all-of-the-above energy strategy -- a strategy that relies on producing more oil and gas here in America, but also producing more biofuels in America, more fuel-efficient cars in America, more wind power in America, and more solar power in America."
Following the speech, one audience member said, " I thought it was a great speech."
That same thought was echoed by another member of the crowd, Shannon Bush. "I liked what the President had to say about an all-of-the-above sort of approach to energy. I wish he would have talked about nuclear a little bit more."
But his main focus was oil.
The President stated, "Producing more oil here in our own country has been, and will continue to be, a key part of my energy strategy."
But Midland oilman Clayton William doesn't buy what the President was saying. "His policies have been revoke intangible drilling. If my company, CWI, didn't have intangible drilling, our drilling would be cut in half," said Williams.
During the President's speech in Maljamar, he said, "If you hear anybody on TV saying that somehow we're somehow against drilling for oil, then you'll know that they either don't know what they're talking about or they're not telling you the truth."
Williams responded, "I don't think he can say a few soundbites and change his policies. (They) have been anti-oil and gas."
