ODESSA -- The City of Odessa is looking to extend a major road along its eastern borders. Now, city leaders have approved a new drilling site along the proposed route.

The Odessa City Council has approved a drilling site between Business 20 and Interstate 20, east of Loop 338.

The new rig will be built near the proposed route of a Faudree Road extension.

The city is still discussing how to fund the $2.4 million extension, which would connect Faudree Road to Interstate 20.
